13U National Atlantic Championship Preview

OTTAWA – Baseball Canada has one more National Championship left in store for fans. With 8 of 9 gold medals already handed out, the last one of the year will be on the line at this week’s 13U National Atlantic Championship.

The event is being hosted in Yarmouth, NS at St. Ambrose and Mariners fields. A total of eight teams will be in town for the tournament including defending champions Summerside. Fredericton and Miramichi will represent New Brunswick, Mount Pearl and St. John’s will represent Newfoundland, Dartmouth and host Yarmouth will represent Nova Scotia and Charlottetown and Summerside will represent PEI.

Last year’s Championship was held in Charlottetown, PE where Summerside won gold. They edged out Fredericton (NB1) by a score of 5-4 in a nail-biting walk-off win. 2014 was Summerside’s second gold medal at the Championship having already won back in 2010 on home soil.

Competition is set to kick off at 8:30am ADT at St. Ambrose Field when PEI (PE2) takes on New Brunswick (NB1).
