OTTAWA-Baseball Canada has once again assembled an impressive list of auction items that will be on-hand at the National Teams Awards Banquet and Fundraiser.
A familiar item to the auction list returns as Ryan Dempster of the Chicago Cubs will once again be offering 2 Fantasy Packages. Two groups of 4 can enjoy airfare, 3 Night Hotel Stay, 2 Restaurant Meals (Harry Carry’s & Wildfire), Cubs Games tickets, pre-game Batting Practice & Clubhouse tour with Ryan and the opportunity for a child to be Cubs Bat Boy for a game. Milwaukee Brewers closer John Axford has offered a similar package for 2 people when the Brewers host the Toronto Blue Jays in June.
A Justin Morneau game used bat and batting gloves, both signed by the Minnesota Twins slugger are also available for bids.
If you wish to place a bid on any of the items, please send an e-mail with your name, item number, bid amount and phone number with subject line “gala auction” to media@baseball.ca. The deadline for submitting bids via e-mail ends at 11:59pm EST on Friday January 13th, but will continue on site at the Renaissance Hotel until the conclusion of the banquet. Winning bids for people attending the banquet can pay by cash, debit or credit card on January 14th. Winners not attending will be notified following the banquet and can pay by credit card only.
