Baseball Canada seeking candidate to fill Administrative Coordinator position

The Administrative Coordinator will operate under the direct supervision of the High PerformanceDirector and the Executive Director, with a strong relationship with the Administrative Assistant.  

This position involves all aspects of logistics for the national teams, for all events hosted by Baseball Canada as well administrative duties in support for programs.

The coordinator will be responsible for the following duties, but not limited to:

  • Travel logistics for national teams travelling abroad and for board members attending Baseball Canada events.
  • Assistance with the Sport Canada Athlete Assistance Program.
  • Assistance with the organization of the Baseball Canada Alumni Banquet and the maintenance of the Alumni Database.
  • Main lead for the organization of the AGM and annual convention, collecting of awards information as well as acting secretary for board meetings.
  • Assistance with financial duties in collaboration with the administrative assistant.
  • Baseball Canada liaison on Girls Committee.

This full time position requires some flexible work hours at specific moments and is based in Ottawa with start date to be on April 4th, 2016. 

Mandatory requirements for this position are:

  • Complete fluency, oral and written, in one of the two official languages
  • Financial and accounting knowledge
  • Experience with event management
  • Knowledge of the Canadian sport system
  • Ability to work independently and sometimes under pressure
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office software
  • Outgoing and friendly, enjoy working with people

The following would be considered assets for this position:

  • Ability to speak the second official language
  • Travelling experience, either as a player, a coach, or a volunteer
