Bowman, Magnuson chosen for Eastern League All Star Game

OTTAWA- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League are the double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays and have seven members of their team heading to the Eastern League All Star game. Two members of the team selected to the game are Canadians Shawn Bowman (Port Moody, BC) and Trystan Magnuson (Vancouver, BC).

Bowman, a third baseman, was claimed off waivers from the New York Mets back in April has torn Eastern League pitching apart this season. Through 225 at bats, Bowman has a .298 average, 12 homeruns and 38 RBI’s. Bowman recently competed for Canada at the 2009 World Cup where the club captured the bronze medal.

Magnuson, a right handed relief pitcher has been very effective coming out of the Fisher Cats bullpen this season. Through 43 innings pitched Magnuson has compiled a 2.30 ERA, 36 strikeouts, 3 saves while holding opponents to a .259 batting average. Magnuson was also a member of the 2009 bronze medal winning World Cup team.

The Eastern League All Star game will take place in Harrisburg, PA on July 14th.
