Baseball Canada Selects New Crop of Junior Players

OTTAWA – The Junior National Team ended its two year cycle with a sixth place finish at the World Junior Baseball Championship in Edmonton in early August. Now Baseball Canada begins a new cycle for the 2010 World Juniors in Thunder Bay and it all starts at the Baseball Canada Cup, which took place from August 13-17 in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Baseball Canada coaches and scouts selected 30 new players from all over the country to participate in the Fall Instructional League camp in Orlando, Florida from October 2-12. There, these players will take on professional players from teams affiliated with Major League Baseball.

Félix Lanciault (QC )
Félix Lanciault, même s’il a soufflé quatre bougies et demie il y a à peine cinq jours, évolue déjà au sein du baseball organisé! Il est inscrit à l’Association de baseball mineur de Blainville et évolue au sein du programme « Rally Cap ». Un programme fantastique pour les jeunes… ainsi que pour la relance du baseball. Récemment, Félix a participé au défi Triple jeux de son association. Et l’improbable est arrivée, lui qui est dans les plus jeunes joueurs du groupe et surtout lui qui est, sans l’ombre d’un doute, le plus petit de la gang, il a reçu une médaille et été sélectionné pour la finale régionale. Félicitations Félix!

- To provide a focus around which all baseball associations in Canada can come together to support good practice in working with children and young people.
- To promote and reward registration/membership within Baseball Canada, baseball's national federation of sport, as well as within the Provincial Baseball Associations.
