Germany to host World Baseball Classic Qualifier

OTTAWA-World Baseball Classic Inc. announced today that Regensburg, Germany will host a qualifying round for the 2013 World Baseball Classic from September 20th-24th, 2012.
Canada will be joined by host Germany, Czech Republic and Great Britain with the winner of the group advancing to the first round of the 2013 World Baseball Classic.
The tentative schedule has Canada opening the qualifier against Great Britain in a modified six-game double elimination tournament.
Canada will be playing in the qualification tournament as a result of not winning a game at the most recent World Baseball Classic held in 2009.
