World Baseball Classic Tickets Now On Sale

Tickets for all World Baseball Classic games including those featuring Canada’s Pool B contests against South Africa, the United States and Mexico are now on sale.
Strips of tickets consisting of one admittance to each first-round game played at a given venue went on sale today at 1 a.m. EST.
Canada plays its first of three opening-round games at Scottsdale Stadium in Scottsdale, Arizona when they face off against South Africa Tuesday, March 7.
Team Canada will then move to Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona for their final pair of first-round games against the United States (Wednesday, March 8) and Mexico (Thursday, March 9).
Ticket prices for the first round of the World Baseball Classic range from $50 to $150 depending on stadium and seat location.

THE WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC
The World Baseball Classic, a 16-team tournament sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF), will feature many of the best players in the world competing for their home countries and territories for the first time ever in March 2006. The 16 teams invited to participate in the event have been divided into four pools of four teams for the first round of play. The four Round 1 pools are scheduled to be played at venues in Asia, Puerto Rico and the United States. Round 2 will feature two pools of four teams each and is scheduled to be played in Puerto Rico and the United States. The Semi-finals and final game will be played at PETCO Park in San Diego.
The WBC will feature a bracket-style format with the 16 teams competing in four groups: Pool A - China, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea; Pool B - Canada, Mexico, South Africa, United States; Pool C - Cuba, Netherlands, Panama, Puerto Rico; Pool D - Australia, Dominican Republic, Italy, Venezuela.
