Juniors Fall to 0-4 at the USA Exhibition Series

The Americans took control of the game early and did not look back as they came out on top by a score of 10-3 over the Junior National Team at the USA Exhibition Series in Joplin, Missouri.

The Canadians were not able to get anything going offensively as they were only able to get six hits in the ball game against the Americans.  Chad Stang of Surrey, B.C. led the offence going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.

Evan Grills of Whitby, Ontario took the mound for the Juniors and threw five innings allowing three runs on seven hits with a pair of walks and four strikeouts to take the loss.

Nick Fogarty of Thornhill, Ontario came in relief and the US offence continued to drive in runs.  The US drove in seven runs off Fogarty, six earned, on 10 hits. Fogarty also gave up a walk and had five strikeouts, all in four innings of work.

Other notable Canadians in this game, Jeff Hunt of Cambridge, Ontario was 1-for-3 with a run scored and Michael Crouse of Port Moody, B.C. was also 1-for-3 in the game.

The Junior National Team will now face Chinese Taipei on Monday at 5 pm at Joe Becker Stadium.  The Canadians are 0-2 against Chinese Taipei in this exhibition series.
