OTTAWA- When MLB teams open Spring Training across Florida and Arizona at the end of February the Junior National Team will also head south for a Spring Training camp of their own, as part of the first ever National Team Alumni Week in St. Petersburg, Florida. The JNT will participate in a series of exhibition games in conjunction with St. Petersburg International Baseball which will see games played at historic Al Lang Stadium from February 26th- March 5th.
OTTAWA- For the second consecutive year Brett Lawrie (Langley, BC) has appeared on MLB.com Top 50 Prospects list. Lawrie, who comes in at #28, is the lone Canadian listed and one of only two second basemen in the top 50.

OTTAWA- Current National League MVP Joey Votto (Etobicoke, ON) has signed a three- year contract with the Cincinnati Reds. Votto’s MVP season saw him belt 37 homeruns to go along with 113 RBI’s and a .324 batting average. Votto has spent his entire career with the Reds organization as they made him a 2nd round selection in the 2002 MLB Draft.
