Playoff Picture Now Set at National Championships

All the seeding in all the divisions here at the Baseball Canada National Championships in Québec City are now set after day four action.

Ontario and Saskatchewan finished first and second respectively in Pool A of the Baseball Canada Cup championship, earning them automatic byes to the semi-finals on Sunday.

In quarter-final action, Québec thumped Nova Scotia, who finished first in Pool B, 11-0 to move on and face Ontario, while British Columbia defeated New Brunswick, who finished second in Pool B, 8-2 and they will now face Saskatchewan.

In the Senior Men’s championship, the host team Québec City will take on Ontario (Oshawa) in the first semi-final while Manitoba will face off against either British Columbia or Newfoundland and Labrador in the other semi-final on Sunday.

Nova Scotia, Ontario, Alberta and Québec all moved on to the semi-finals in the Senior Women`s championship.  Nova Scotia will take on Ontario and Alberta will battle with Québec.

In the games that will determine who plays for the medals in the Pee-Wee Girls championship, Alberta will face off with Québec, while Québec City will take on British Columbia.

For the Bantam Girls championship, Québec City is set to tangle with Saskatchewan for the bronze and Québec will wrestle with Alberta for the gold.
