Saskatchewan Challenger Baseball Day set for November 7th

OTTAWA- In conjunction with Baseball Canada’s annual Fall Convention November 4th to 7th in Saskatoon, Sask Baseball will be hosting a ‘Challenger Baseball Fun Day’ on November 7th for any new or existing players and families.

Adopted by Baseball Canada in 2012, Challenger Baseball provides an opportunity for children with cognitive or physical disabilities to enjoy the thrill of playing baseball, being part of a team, developing physical and social skill plus all the benefits of participation in baseball at a level structured to their abilities. Games are played in a fun, safe environment where no score is kept. The philosophy of Challenger Baseball is very simple: 'Play, just for fun!'

On November 7th, the Saskatoon Radisson Inn, located at 404 20th Street East, will play host to the Challenger Baseball Fun Day, providing an opportunity for current and new players and families to come and experience Challenger Baseball.

Check-in begins at 9:30 am with a Challenger Baseball game to follow at 10am lasting approximately one hour. Players and families are invited to stay afterwards for a Challenger Baseball workshop/information session outlining topics such as how to start a program in your area and what makes a successful program. The workshop will take place in the hotel’s Michelangelo Room.

Ian McLean, National Coordinator, Challenger Baseball Canada will be on hand to lead the information session.
