The Baseball Canada Coach Developer Award is handed out annually to an individual who has demonstrated commitment and excellency in the delivery of NCCP coach education to baseball coaches in their residing province.
The Baseball Canada Event Recognition Award is handed out annually to a community, group or organization that has hosted a baseball event that has benefitted the baseball community or delivered a baseball experience in a unique fashion to the greater community. Events considered can include but are not limited to a tournament, coach/officials’ clinic or convention, player development experience, convention bringing baseball communities together, a fundraiser.
The Bob Elliott Media Recognition Award is named after Bob Elliott, a former winner (2012) of the BBWAA Career Excellence Award, the highest award given by the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA), presented annually by the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Elliott covered both the Montréal Expos and Toronto Blue Jays during a distinguished career that spanned four decades, but it’s Bob’s long-lasting contributions to Canadian baseball and raising the profile of Canadians in the game and telling their stories which has resulted in this award being named after him. The Kingston, Ontario native’s Canadian Baseball Network website has been a go-to source for information for years from Canadian baseball sandlots all the way to the big leagues. When a Canadian reaches the majors, chances are the Canadian baseball community read about them years earlier via Elliott and the Canadian Baseball Network. His coverage of Canadian prospects eligible for the annual MLB Draft has been must read material for years while his annual Top 100 Most Influential Canadians in Baseball list has provided deserved recognition for many year-over-year. It’s through Bob’s work that he’s forged relationships across Canada allowing him to tell great Canadian baseball stories to this very day.
The Baseball Canada Umpire Developer Award is handed out annually to an individual who has demonstrated commitment and excellency in the delivery of umpire education as part of the National Umpires Certification Program.
The Baseball Canada Volunteer of the Year Award was created in 2001 to recognize the contribution of the most dedicated, enthusiastic person who has devoted at least ten years of volunteering within their provincial association.
To be eligible for this award, the coach must have made a positive, long-time contribution to coaching baseball in Canada at the local, Provincial, National and/or international level, be in good standing with the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and have demonstrated outstanding leadership, performance, and guidance as a baseball coach throughout their coaching career.

OTTAWA – The 2022 Women’s Invitational Championships will be played in Winnipeg, Manitoba from August 18-21 after The Town of Stonewall advised that they would be unable to host the event.
OTTAWA – Baseball Canada in partnership with Northern Arena, the premier esports league and tournament producer in Canada, successfully hosted the first-ever Baseball Canada eNational Championships on November 14th with Ontario’s Zazzi15 winning the grand final.
Baseball Canada umpire Tanya Millette has professional baseball umpiring aspirations and will attend the prestigious Wendelstedt Umpire School in Florida early in 2022 after receiving news from Major League Baseball’s Umpire Program that she’s set to receive a bursary to attend.
