OTTAWA- Baseball Canada announced today the names of 31 players invited to the Junior National Team’s Extended Spring Training camp in Lake Buena Vista, Florida at ESPN Wide World of Sports from April 15-23.
ST. PETERSBURG, Florida – Andrew Yerzy (Toronto, ON) hit the Junior National Team’s first home run of spring training and drove in three runs but it wasn’t enough as the juniors fell to a prospects squad from the Detroit Tigers organization, 9-4.

PETERSBURG, Florida – One season removed from being a member of the Junior National Team, Calgary native Michael Soroka faced his former mates and tossed two scoreless innings registering a pair of strikeouts as his Braves went on to a 7-0 win over Team Canada at the Walter Fuller Baseball Complex. Last June, the Braves made Soroka the 28th overall selection in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Soroka faced the minimum amount of batters as Cooper Davis (Mississauga, ON) reached on error to lead off the bottom of the first only to see Soroka pick him off at first base.
