HAVANA, Cuba – A three run first inning and a six run seventh were more than enough runs as Cuba rolled to a 12-2 victory in the finale of the nine-game Cuba Summer Series.
HAVANA, Cuba – A bases clearing triple with two out in the top of the sixth proved to be the difference as Cuba earned their seventh win of the Cuba Summer Series with a 6-2 win this morning over the Junior National Team.
HAVANA, Cuba – After a comeback that just fell short in the ninth inning this morning that saw the Junior National Team drop a 9-8 decision to Cuba, the Canadian boys brought their bats to the second half of the double dip as they exploded for seven runs in the second inning and held on for a 9-6 victory to hand Cuba their first loos of the Cuba Summer Series.
HAVANA, Cuba – A five run first inning was too much to overcome for the Junior National Team who fell by a score of 6-3 to Cuba. The juniors brought the tying run to the plate in the top of the ninth and it was Tyler Duncan (Sooke, BC) who had three hits on the day, but he bounced into a fielder’s choice to end the game.
HAVANA, Cuba – The Junior National Team dropped their fourth game in a row in the nine-game Cuba Summer Series and are still in search of their first win after a 9-1 loss to the Cuban U-18 National Team. The game featured just seven hits with Cuba accounting for five of them, and saw neither team collect a hit from the fourth through seventh innings. Walks were the story for Canada as Cuba benefitted from 12 free passes including six in the fifth that saw Cuba score four runs without recording a hit.
HAVANA, Cuba – The Junior National Team let one slip away and came out on the wrong end of a 3-2 score as Cuba swept a morning/afternoon doubleheader and now hold a 3-0 record in the nine-game Cuba Summer Series. In the morning, the juniors led 5-2 after six thanks to home runs from Adam Hall (London, ON) and Noah Naylor (Mississauga, ON) in a five-run third, but allowed Cuba to jump back into he game as they scored six in the seventh. The juniors rallied but came up short in an 8-7 final.
