OTTAWA – Teams are slowly rounding into form and battles are starting to heat up as both tournaments have reached their half way point.  Expect to see more of the same on Day 3 when the teams will battle for positions in Sunday’s medal round.

OTTAWA – Today marked the beginning of a busy weekend of baseball ahead in the province of Québec.  The Junior tournament kicked off in Trois-Rivières while the Midget tournament began play in Québec City.  Here is a recap of the games currently completed on Day 1.

EDMONTON-The Canadian offensive juggernaut continues to roll at the 5th IBAF Women’s World Cup as Canada smashed-out sixteen hits to record their third mercy-rule victory of the tournament with a 12-2 thumping of Cuba.

OTTAWA – Day 1 wrapped up on Thursday night with both hosts being victorious.  A total of 10 games were played at the Midget Championship while six games were played at the Junior Championship.  Day 2 sees more of the same.

OTTAWA – The province of Québec plays host to two tournaments this weekend when both the Junior National Championships and Midget National Championships get underway.  The Junior tournament is being held in Trois-Rivières, while the Midget tournament will be hosted in Québec City.

EDMONTON-Wet and cold conditions did nothing to stop Canada’s hot bats as they used sixteen hits to easily defeat the Netherlands 19-2 in a five inning, mercy-rule shortened game.

OTTAWA - Ontario is one step closer to defending their Canada Cup title after defeating Manitoba by a score of 13-3.  After getting off to a slow start, Ontario increased the intensity in a big way to help catapult them into tonight’s final.  Joining them will be the team from BC, who knocked off Québec in a come from behind win.  BC will be looking for revenge as they were defeated by Ontario in both their round robin matches.

EDMONTON-Canada struck for two runs in the bottom of the sixth breaking a 3-3 tie and hung on for a 5-4 win over Australia to move their record to 3-0 at the 5th IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup.
