BC: Where does being chosen to the Olympic team roster rank on your list of career accomplishments?
Stern: It’s definitely near the top. Definitely, making the national team ranks up there with anything else I’ve ever accomplished.

Stern: Out of high school, I didn’t get a lot of at-bats against upper-end baseball. College catapults you towards facing better pitching and the Big-12 Conference is regarded as one of the best in the (United States), so it helped out a lot.
BC: What sort of support have your parents been for you in your life and career?
Stern: They’ve been awesome. Wherever I’ve been, they’ve come to see me. Whatever it’s been, they’ve been on the road.
BC: Baseball expectations aside, what are your feelings and thoughts about this summer’s Olympics from a personal standpoint?
Stern: It’s an experience that comes once in a lifetime. These are memories I’ll carry for the rest of my life. Everyone who’s been there says it’s one of their best experiences in life and I’m waiting to have that.
