Baseball Canada, Little League Canada partner to deliver Challenger Baseball Program

OTTAWA-Baseball Canada and Little League Baseball Canada are pleased to announce a partnership that will see both organizations jointly run the Challenger Baseball program across Canada.

Challenger Baseball is a program that provides an opportunity for children with cognitive or physical disabilities to enjoy the full benefits of participation in baseball at a level structured to their abilities.

“We are very excited to work with Little League Canada on this initiative and look forward to seeing the program grow for years to come,” said Baseball Canada President, Ray Carter. “With both organizations working together, Challenger Baseball will now be available to even more families across Canada which is nothing but positive for the program.”

“Challenger Baseball is a program that Little League Canada has been offering since 1988. We are thrilled that Baseball Canada has jumped on board and we look forward to what the partnership will become in the future,” said Little League Canada President and Chairman, Roy Bergerman.

A new website for Challenger Baseball in Canada, challengerbaseball.ca, has also been launched that includes information on different programs offered across Canada, how to start a Challenger Baseball program in your area and a step-by-step guide to do so, along with news and key contact information for Challenger Baseball in Canada.

“The new website will provide important resources for both current and interested Challenger Baseball Programs and will also help the program build a strong brand from coast-to-coast,” said Ian McLean, National Coordinator, Challenger Baseball Canada.
