BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic –-- With their eighth and ninth games in six days and third doubleheader in five days the Junior National Team’s offence showed little in the way of fatigue as the club recorded 20 hits in games against the Dominican Summer League’s Twins and Yankees earlier today.
GUERRA, Dominican Republic –-- The Dominican Summer League (DSL) tour entered the halfway mark earlier today with the Junior National Team falling to the Tampa Bay Rays’ Dominican prospects, 7-3.
LA GINA/BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic –-- Former National Team player and coach Shawn Bowman (Coquitlam, BC) led his Dominican Summer League Pirates to a 9-7 win this morning to snap the Junior National Team’s four-game winning streak while in the afternoon contest, while the afternoon contest saw the Toronto Blue Jays’ Dominican prospects come away with an 8-3 win.
EL TORO, Dominican Republic –-- Eric Martin (Kitchener, ON) and Cesar Valero (Calgary, AB) each knocked in a pair of runs as the Junior National Team hung on to defeat the Dominican Summer League (DSL) Mariners, 6-5, and keep their perfect record intact through three days of the Dominican Summer League tour at 4-0.
LA GINA/GUERRA, Dominican Republic –-- The annual Dominican Summer League tour has been kind to the Junior National Team thus far as the club swept a doubleheader today to move to 3-0 after two days on the island.

OTTAWA- Reigning Women’s National Team Most Valuable Player Daphnée Gélinas picked up some more hardware on Wednesday evening as she was presented with “International Team Sport Athlete” award at the 46th annual Sport Québec Gala in Montréal.
