Spoljaric family ignites campaign to honour Nodar Kumaritashvili

Former Baseball Canada Olympian and MLB player Paul Spoljaric and his family finds way to ignite campaign to honour Nodar Kumaritashvili, the luger who tragically lost his life.

“It’s terrible that such a horrific accident happened. My thoughts run to the ones he left behind” explains Paul Spoljaric; Olympian in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Greece and played 7 + years in Major League Baseball.

The Spoljaric crew were about to launch Kidz with a Kause this week, an innovative website that Spoljaric’s five young kids created – ages 11, 10, 6, 5 & 5. K.W.A.K, a place to get some really amazing things, take part in cool games & contests, and help an endless amount of people, all at the same time.

K.W.A.K’s first campaign was geared toward raising money for the Olympians at the 2010 Games, helping support those organizations that count on contributions in order to stay competitive.

“With the death of Mr. Kumaritashvili, it was an obvious addition to our Olympic Campaign in making a difference anyway we could.”

“We have designed a commemorative card in honour of Nodar Kumaritashvili which will be sold for $1.50. ALL the proceeds will go directly to help the Georgia Luge Federation build a luge track in Bakuriani, Nodar’s hometown.”

“The Olympics are such an amazing time when the world unites, showing the best their countries have to offer. With the unexpected death of Nodar, this too can be a time when we all come together and show our support; a way to help the Kumaritashvili family and the country in their loss. A monument to their lost Olympian.”

“If Olympic fans & athletes were aware of our mission, they would most definitely contribute and receive a keepsake in return, to acknowledge their support. ALL proceeds will go to the specific cause of building the luge track and if we have an excess we will fund a scholarship in Nodar’s name.”

“Speaking with Ms. Aptsiauri, from the Georgia delegation – they are thrilled with our endeavor, to pay tribute to Nodar. She made me aware they do not even have a headstone to mark their fallen Olympian. Making this whole campaign of even greater magnitude” said Lisa Spoljaric.

“This is a wonderful way for us all to acknowledge the loss of an Olympian, ensuring Nodar’s name is not forgotten” said the mother of five, “This will be a monument the entire world can take pride in!”
