Baseball Canada looking for hosts for 2011 National Championships

OTTAWA – Baseball Canada is accepting bids to host the 2011 National Championships until January 30th, 2010.

Two championships have hosts selected thus far; the Bantam Boys Championship in Vaughan, Ontario and the Senior Men’s Championship in Chatham, New Brunswick.

To help alleviate some of the costs on future hosts, the Baseball Canada Board of Directors passed a motion at the 2009 Baseball Canada Convention in St. John’s, Newfoundland to charge the participating teams $1,000 per scheduled day of competition for accommodations.

The remaining championships in need of hosts are the Midget Championship, Junior Championship, Bantam Girls Championship and Senior Women’s Invitational.

The 2010 Baseball Canada Championship Hosting Guide, which contains the same guidelines that will be in place for the 2011 Championships, is available for those interested in placing a bid for one of the remaining championships. Click here to view the hosting guide.

Cities and towns interested to bid as host for one of these championships can contact André Lachance, Baseball Operations Manager with Baseball Canada at 613-748-5606, ext. 226, or via e-mail at alachance@baseball.ca.
