OTTAWA – The Road is back. Is your team ready?
Registration is now OPEN for the second annual The Road to Okotoks and the Morneau Cup presented by Rawlings, giving Canada’s top amateur programs the opportunity to compete in a national championship experience unlike anything else in Canadian amateur baseball.
Regional Qualifiers will take place from May 27-30, 2027, with 16 teams advancing to compete for the Morneau Cup from July 27-August 1 Seaman Stadium in Okotoks, Alberta. August 2 has been designated as a rain date.
Only the first 40 teams to register will have the opportunity to take the Road to Okotoks.
An Experience Unlike Any Other
The inaugural Road to Okotoks delivered everything the event was created to provide including elite competition, national exposure and a championship environment worthy of the players competing in it.
Twenty-nine clubs entered Regional Qualifiers before 16 teams earned their way to Okotoks, where the host Okotoks Dawgs Black ultimately became the first team to hoist the Morneau Cup, named after Canadian baseball legend Justin Morneau who personally handed out the trophy.
But what happened between the lines was only part of the experience.
Seaman Stadium delivered a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, with large crowds filling the ballpark and bringing the energy that has made Okotoks one of the premier amateur baseball destinations in North America. For participating players, the opportunity to compete in meaningful championship games in front of that type of crowd created an environment that is truly unique in Canadian amateur baseball.
The result was more than a tournament. It was the type of national stage experience that players, coaches and programs will remember long after the final out.
Now, another group of teams will have the opportunity to experience it.
“The first Road to Okotoks showed exactly what this event can be,” said Baseball Canada CEO Jason Dickson. “The level of play was outstanding, but what really separated the event was the environment in Okotoks. Seeing these young players compete in front of large, passionate crowds at Seaman Stadium created something incredibly special. It’s an experience that is difficult to replicate anywhere else in Canadian baseball, and we want even more programs to have the opportunity to be part of it in 2027.”

And we were thrilled that the thousands of fans that attended the Road saw Canada’s future big leaguers and were able to appreciate the extraordinary level of baseball being played from coast to coast in our country. Road to Okotoks, Year 2 will be bigger and better!"
National Exposure with Prep Baseball
Baseball Canada partner Prep Baseball will once again be on-site throughout the Road to Okotoks, providing extensive coverage of participating teams and players at all Regional Qualifiers and the Morneau Cup in Okotoks.
That presence will provide players with valuable exposure throughout the competition while showcasing participating programs and their athletes on a national stage.
Prep Baseball will also host a two-round Morneau Cup Draft Show ahead of the championship event. The 16 teams that qualify for Okotoks will have the opportunity to select additional players to add to their rosters, creating another unique element of the Road to Okotoks experience.
