Baseball Canada names appear on Top 100 list

OTTAWA- The fourth annual top 100 most influential Canadians in baseball list was released by Bob Elliott (Kingston, ON) of the Toronto Sun through his Canadian Baseball Network website. Greg Hamilton (Ottawa, ON) the current Director of National Teams and Head Coach of the Junior National Team earned himself yet another top 10 placement as he came in at number 6 on this year’s list.

“It is truly an honour to be so highly regarded amongst such well respected baseball luminaries,” says Hamilton. “Bob has been such a wonderful supporter of our programs and a tremendous ally in promoting baseball in Canada.”

Hamilton is noted on the list for the amount of players that he scouts on an annual basis and putting together the senior and junior national teams.

President of Baseball Canada, Ray Carter (Tsawwassen, BC) appears at number 36 on the list and receives praise for his over 35 years work in amateur baseball.

Jim Baba (Ottawa, ON) who heads up Baseball Canada’s Ottawa office as the Director General comes in at number 72. Baba gets kudos for being the liaison for Baseball Canada with Sports Canada and the Pan Am Games committee.

Receiving honourable mention are André Lachance (Ottawa, ON), Baseball Canada’s Manager of Baseball Operations and the Field Manager for the Women’s National Team and Jason Dickson (Chatham, NB) the Vice-President of Baseball Canada.
