Baseball PEI welcomes new Executive Director

OTTAWA – Baseball PEI has named Glenn Flood as its new Executive Director, replacing Kelsey McIntosh who resigned the position to join the head office of Baseball Canada back in February.

Flood is taking over the day-to-day operations of Baseball PEI after spending the last seven years with Sport PEI as Multi-Sport Executive Director.

“I’m looking forward to working with a dedicated group and coming with a multi-sport background and understanding the demands of the position, I hope to make this a smooth transistion,” says Flood.

Aside from his seven years with Sport PEI, Flood has a degree in Sport Management from the University of Cape Breton and has been employed as the recreation director for multiple small communities across the island.

“Having the experience of working with small rural communities, we feel that he can bring that perspective to Baseball PEI because a large portion of our membership comes from small rural communities,” says Baseball PEI President Don LeClair.

Flood will have to hit the ground running as he comes on board in full swing of the new baseball season and tries to help continue the growth of the game in Prince Edward Island.

“I’m eager to get myself established in my new role and help continue the positive things that are happening with the sport here in the province and I’m looking forward to working with the national body to increase the profile of the game.”
