OTTAWA, ON – The Baseball Canada Championship season came to a close this past weekend, as three national titles were decided across the country. Champions were crowned at the 13U National Championship in Woodstock, Ontario, the 15U Ray Carter Cup in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, and the Men’s National Championship in Regina, Saskatchewan, marking a fitting finale to another exciting summer of competition.
13U National Championship
Gold Medal Game
Ontario2 closed out a fantastic weekend of competition with a commanding 12–2 victory over British Columbia to capture gold at the 13U National Championship. The game, suspended in the fifth inning Sunday night due to inclement weather, was resumed Monday morning with Ontario2 finishing the job in decisive fashion.
The defending champions from British Columbia earned silver, marking another strong showing on the national stage.
Bronze Medal Game
Ontario defeated Host Ontario 20–10 in a high-scoring, all-Ontario matchup to secure the bronze medal. The result capped the weekend with an emphatic offensive display and a podium finish for Ontario. With the loss Woodstock slides into the fourth-place finish after a strong week of baseball in front of their home crowd.
15U Ray Carter Cup
Gold Medal Game
British Columbia once again proved their strength at the 15U Ray Carter Cup, earning an 8–1 victory over Ontario in the championship final to claim their fourth consecutive gold medal. BC set the tone early and never looked back, capping off another impressive run on the national stage.
Ontario battled throughout the weekend in Summerside, PEI, and departs with a well-earned silver medal after a strong overall performance.
Bronze Medal Game
Quebec delivered a commanding performance in the bronze medal game, defeating Manitoba 11–0 to secure their third consecutive bronze medal at the Ray Carter Cup. Backed by a complete-game pitching effort and flawless defense, Quebec ensured another trip to the podium.
Men’s National Championship
Gold Medal Game
The Charlottetown Islanders, representing New Brunswick, claimed the Men’s National Championship title with an 8–1 victory over defending champions Quebec. The Islanders’ offense came alive with nine hits, including two home runs, to power their way to gold.
Quebec’s bid for a three-peat came up just short, but they leave Regina with silver after back-to-back championship seasons at the top of this tournament.
Bronze Medal Game
In an all-Saskatchewan matchup, Team Saskatchewan powered past the host Regina Trappers 13–3 to secure the bronze medal. A decisive 10-run third inning fueled the victory, as Saskatchewan’s offense erupted for 15 hits in an impressive performance to close out their tournament on the podium.
