Juniors Drop Fall Instructional League Finale

ORLANDO, Florida-The Atlanta Braves held the Junior National Team to just one hit as they took the final Fall Instructional League game 4-0. The game was shortened to seven innings.

Jean-Philippe Rousseau (Blainville, QC) singled in the top of the sixth inning for the only JNT hit of the ballgame. After Damion Smith (Windsor, ON) walked, Rousseau was thrown out while trying to advance to third base.

Clayton Isherwood (Van Anda, BC) started for the JNT and worked three innings giving up only one run on two hits with one walk and a strikeout.

The lone run off Isherwood came in the third inning when he gave up a double and a single, followed by a sacrifice fly to get the Braves on the board.

Michael Clouthier (Guelph, ON) came on for the fourth and fifth innings and gave up two runs in the fourth before tossing a scoreless fifth inning. Clouthier’s outing included him striking out three Braves batters.

The two runs that Clouthier gave up were as a result of a wild-pitch and a RBI ground out.

Logan Seifrit (Spruce Grove, AB) threw a perfect sixth inning before two hits and two passed balls allowed the Braves to score a run in the seventh to go up 4-0.

The loss brings an end to the JNT Fall Instructional League schedule. The JNT will reconvene on February 25th, 2011 in St Petersburg, FL for the start of the first ever Spring Training and National Team Alumni Week. For a detailed schedule please click here.
