Canada came out flat and did not do themselves any favours as they suffered a 13-1 loss at the hands of the Australian U18 National Team. With the win, Australia moves to 2-0 in the eight-game series, while Canada is still searching for their first win.
OTTAWA – After four days of competition at the ongoing Baseball Canada Championships that started last Thursday, five teams will be going home with gold medals. Below are the five National Championships that came to a close on Sunday.
The Australian U18 National Team used a five run fourth inning to break a 2-2 tie and they held on to defeat the Canadian U18 Junior National Team, 7-2 in the opening game of an eight game series between the two nations.
SURFERS PARADISE, Australia – The Junior National Team held their first workout in Surfers Paradise earlier today on the eve of an eight game exhibition series against the Australian U-18 National Team.
OTTAWA – Saturday was the last day for teams to move up in the standings other than at the 13U National Western in Coquitlam-Moody, BC where semi-final action took place. The gold and bronze medal games are set with Coquitlam-Moody taking on Burnaby (BC1) in the battle for first and South Jasper Place (AB1) vs Oildome (MB2) for bronze.
OTTAWA – Friday saw the round-robins at the 13U National Western event in Coquitlam-Moody, BC come to a close. Semi-finals and placement games are scheduled for Saturday with Oildome taking on Coquitlam-Moody and South Jasper Place and Burnaby facing off in the two semi-final match-ups.

OTTAWA – It’ll be a busy week for Canadian baseball fans as a total of five National Championships are scheduled for this week following the conclusion of the Baseball Canada Cup in Saskatoon, SK. British Columbia won gold at the event on Monday by defeating Saskatchewan 10-1.
