Two National Championships are set to begin on Wednesday

OTTAWA – Baseball Canada National Championship season is well underway with two events set to begin this week.

Baseball Canada Cup

Ten provinces will compete at one of Baseball Canada’s marquee events in Regina, Saskatchewan from August 9-13.

The competition will feature some of the top 17U baseball talent in the country who have earned themselves a spot to represent their respective provinces.

The last edition of the 17U championship took place in 2022 as part of the Canada Games where Team Ontario crowned themselves with the gold medal while Team Alberta and Team Saskatchewan secured their spots on the podium with Silver and Bronze, respectively.

21U Women’s Championship 

Another National Champion will be crowned at the 21U Women’s Championship in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

From August 10th to the 13th seven provinces will contend for a chance at a gold medal as St. Pat’s Ball Park takes centre stage for the second year in a row.

Here’s how to follow all the action!

WHAT:

Baseball Canada Cup at Optimist Park and Currie Field in Regina, Saskatchewan 

21U Women’s Championship at St. Pat’s Ball Park, Smalwood Field and Wishingwell Park in St. John, Newfoundland and Labrador

WHEN:

Baseball Canada Cup gets started on Wednesday, August 09 with Bronze, Silver and Gold medal games taking place on Sunday August 13. Opening Ceremonies are set to begin on the first day of the competition at 6:00 PM ET in Optimist Park, Regina.

Opening Ceremonies for the 21U Women’s Championship are set to take place on Wednesday, August 09 at 6:00 PM ET in St. Pat’s Ball Park. Games will start a day later, on Thursday August 10 with Championship games also taking place on Sunday, August 13.
