EDMONTON-Baseball Canada is happy to announce that Poster #1 is the winner of the ‘You Wish You Could Throw Like a Girl’ poster contest.
The announcement was made today by members of the Women’s National Team who are in Edmonton for the IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup August 10-19. Canada opens the tournament tomorrow against Chinese Taipei at 10:30pm ET.
Baseball Canada released three different poster designs on June 28th and nearly 2,000 votes were cast during a two-week period on Baseball.ca to decide the winner.
In the end the vote was extremely close with Poster #1 attaining just over 40% of total votes.
Baseball Canada will use Poster #1 in promotional material for Girls Baseball in 2013. It will be featured on the Baseball Canada’s Girls Baseball webpage and will be distributed to all Provincial Baseball Associations.
If you have submitted a photo which appears on the winning poster, you will receive an autographed bat signed by the Women’s National Team courtesy of Rawlings. Furthermore, all individuals who submitted photos have been entered into a random draw for Baseball Canada merchandise.
