2023 Women’s Championships to take place in Halifax

OTTAWA - Baseball Canada is thrilled to announce that a familiar host and community will welcome the very best women’s players in the country when the Women’s Championships take place in Halifax and Upper Sackville, Nova Scotia from July 27-30, 2023.

Having hosted five female Baseball Canada championships in the last ten years including four 16U events (’12, ’13, ’18 & ’19) and the first ever 21U Women’s Invitational in 2016, 2023 will be the first time since 2008 (Cape Breton) that the Women’s Championship will be played in Nova Scotia.

“We’re thrilled to once again bring top notch women’s baseball to our community and showcase these incredible athletes,” said Host Committee Chairperson Holly LaPierre. “I’ve always wanted to host this event in my hometown seeing as the top players in Canada will be here competing for a national championship.”

LaPierre, who acts as President of Hammonds Plains Minor Baseball, an association that has the largest registration base of female players in Nova Scotia, has brought numerous national, provincial and local baseball tournaments to the province in recent years.

All tournament games will be held at Mainland Commons and Weir Field with live streaming planned for all games.

Baseball Canada’s Women’s Championship has been held since 2006 with Ontario having won ten events including the most recent championship in 2022 that was help in Stonewall, Manitoba.
