Cerantola, Davis, Julien representing Canada in Omaha

OTTAWA – Recent Junior National Team graduates Eric Cerantola (Oakville, ON), Cooper Davis (Mississauga, ON) and Edouard Julien (Québec, QC) are in Omaha, Nebraska as part of an eight-team field that will be competing in the College World Series starting on Saturday, June 15.

Auburn University (Julien), Mississippi State (Cerantola) and Vanderbilt (Davis) are joined by Arkansas, Florida State, Louisville, Michigan and Texas Tech as the eight schools battle for college baseball supremacy.

Cerantola, Davis and Julien were active with the Junior National Team program in recent years with Davis representing Canada at the 2015 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Osaka, Japan while Cerantola and Julien were members of the 2017 squad that placed fourth at the event when it was held in Thunder bay, Ontario.

Cerantola, 19, is currently in his freshman season with Mississippi State where he’s pitched in ten games including four starts and has a 3-0 record and a 4.40 earned run average. He last appeared in a game against Louisiana State University on May 24th where he sat in the high 90’s and touched 100 miles-per-hour on some radar guns.

Davis, 20, is in his sophomore season with Vanderbilt and has a .331 batting average in 35 games including 31 starts. He has been successful on six of seven stolen base attempts during the season.

Julien, 20, followed up an impressive freshman campaign in 2018 at Auburn by tying for the club lead with nine home runs and leads the team with 54 runs batted in while competing in 63 of 64 games.

Davis and Vanderbilt will open play on Sunday, June 16th with a match-up against Louisville (2PM ET) while Cerantola and Julien will go head-to-head when Mississippi State takes on Auburn on Sunday evening (7:30PM ET).
