Baseball Canada welcomes Kelsey McIntosh to staff

OTTAWA – Baseball Canada has added to its staff, welcoming Kelsey McIntosh in the newly created position of Program Coordinator at the Federation’s Ottawa office.

McIntosh was the Executive Director of Baseball PEI before joining the Baseball Canada staff.  He brings his passion and experience in the game to the table and adds a fresh perspective.

“I’m really excited to be here,” says an enthusiastic McIntosh. “It’s going to be a change, but it’s the sport I love, and being involved at the provincial level I think will help me through.  Also knowing the structure and other provincial staff will help me.”

“Coming from a provincial stand point I understand what the provincial needs are,” he adds. “I feel I might have an understanding of what’s needed from grass roots up to National Championships.”

The Souris, PEI native fell in love with the game and the tender age of two. Recalling games of catch in the front yard with his father and going to the ball diamond on weekends.

“On sunny summer Sunday everyone in PEI would go to the beach, but we’d go to the ballpark and that’s all I ever knew,” remembers McIntosh.

In his new role, McIntosh has some new challenges and some big goals to achieve. With the national reach he now has, he hopes he can make a positive impression on the game of baseball.

He already has some big projects ahead of him.

“The National Championships are going through a bit of a transition with some of the structure, so we need to finalize the right structure for the country. Also there’s grass roots development. Our game is growing and there is still some room for slight modification in order to improve that area.”

“Being involved in something like this that would impact the grass roots of the game would be pretty rewarding.”
