BLUE JAYS HONDA SUPER CAMPS REACH ALL PROVINCES IN 2013

The Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy will conduct 17 Blue Jays Honda Super Camps this summer across 10 provinces from March through to August, as they continue their commitment to grow the game of baseball across Canada.

In conjunction with Honda, Baseball Canada and Little League Canada the club will conduct 3-day instructional baseball camps commencing in Prince George, British Columbia from March 26-28 and concluding in Kelowna, British Columbia on August 22-24.

A large group of Blue Jays alumni once again return as instructors including; Duane Ward, Roberto Alomar, Lloyd Moseby, Jesse Barfield, Carlos Delgado, Homer Bush, Cecil Fielder and Frank Catalanotto. They join the team at Baseball Canada, providing top level instruction to each participant.

“As we embark on our third season of Blue Jays Honda Super Camps, we continue to grow and expand the quality and reach of this program. We are very pleased to continue our partnership with Baseball Canada and promote participation in the game of baseball across Canada. The partnership has allowed the Blue Jays and Baseball Canada to provide kids across the country with a level of instruction they can find nowhere else. Together we continue to encourage the growth of the game of baseball in this country.” - Stephen Brooks, Senior Vice-President, Business Operations, Toronto Blue Jays

“The continued commitment from the Blue Jays has truly enhanced the experience we can give these kids. With the efforts of the Blue Jays alumni and our own quality instructors, we are able to provide a true experience during these camps. To see the Blue Jays’ effort with these camps and the impact it is making across the country is truly rewarding.” - Jim Baba, Director General, Baseball Canada

The camps will run from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at a cost of $230 for kids aged 9-16. Registration will be available on www.bluejays.com/camps and is limited to the first 150 registrants. In addition, working with local Boys & Girls Clubs, the Toronto Blue Jays, through Jays Care Foundation, will donate registration fees for a select number of players in each of the camps to help remove any barriers to participation. Also assisting is the Toronto Chapter of the Baseball Writers of America Association (BBWAA) who will donate registration fees for a select number of children.

Each participant will receive a Blue Jays hat and t-shirt, and Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructional Manual.
