HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - Baseball Canada is pleased to announce the names of 20 athletes that will represent Canada at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s Baseball World Cup Group A in Thunder Bay from August 8-13.
OTTAWA – For the first time in four years the Women’s Championship will see a new Gold Medalist as Québec knocked off British Columbia 4-0 in the final game of the tournament at Mainland Field in Halifax, NS.

OTTAWA – Toronto’s Brady Cerkownyk and Junior National Team grad Jérémy Pilon (Valleyfield, QC) were the only two Canadians selected on the third and final day of the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft with rounds 11 through 20 taking place.
OTTAWA – A pair of Junior National Team alums were taken by the Toronto Blue Jays on day two of the Major League Baseball Draft with University of Michigan lefthander Connor O’Halloran (Mississauga, ON) chosen in the fifth round while outfielder Sam Shaw (Victoria, BC) went to the Jays in the ninth round.
OTTAWA – For the third time in history a Naylor brother took the honour of being the first Canadian selected in the Major League Baseball Draft after the Oakland Athletics selected third baseman Myles Naylor 39th overall in the Competitive Balance Round A.
OTTAWA – The Pittsburgh Pirates are on the clock with the first overall selection in the 2023 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft that runs from July 9th – 11th with 20 rounds scheduled for the three-day event.
OTTAWA - Canada will open play at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s Baseball World Cup Group A against Mexico on August 8th at Baseball Central in Thunder Bay, Ontario before taking on Hong Kong-China, USA, Korea, and Australia in the event that is set to take place from August 8-13.
