OTTAWA- CIS along with Baseball Canada has released the roster that will represent Canada at the World University Baseball Championship being held in Tokyo, Japan from July 30th – August 5th. The event includes 8 countries that will vie for a world championship.

OTTAWA- Baseball Manitoba has reason to celebrate as Executive Director Morgan de Pena has been inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame. The honour was presented June 5th at the 14th annual induction ceremony. Mr. de Pena was inducted as both a player and a builder as his impact on the sport in Manitoba has been felt in both areas.

OTTAWA- Quebec has always been one of the top provinces in Canada in all areas of the game. This was most evident in 2009 when Quebec was awarded the Province of the Year at the annual Baseball Canada Convention. The highlight of the award was surely Quebec’s success in the Championships category where the province captured 3 gold medals and 4 silver medals at the national level. Like in most cases the key to success at the high performance level is having strong programs in place at the grassroots level; such is the case in Quebec.
