GIJANG, Korea- A five run third inning put Team Canada in a deep hole, while Japanese starter Ayami Sato turned in a dominant performance on the mound as Japan earned their fifth consecutive WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup gold medal with a 10-0 win.

Ottawa, ON – Championship season came to a close on Sunday with the final gold title being awarded to the Hammonds Plains A’s at the DQ® 13U National Atlantic Championship in Mount Pearl, NL. Hammonds Plains became the 11th team to take home gold this summer. Capital District won silver and bronze went to St. John's.

Ottawa, ON – The gold medal match-up is set in stone now that the round-robin has come to an end. Capital District and Hammonds Plains will face off in the finals after each coming out on top in their semi-final contests on Saturday. Sunday’s gold medal game in Mount Pearl, NL is scheduled for 1:00pm at Team Gushue field. St. John’s and Port City will play for bronze at 4:00pm.
