AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico – After cruising through their first two wins of the COPABE Women’s World Cup qualifier, the Canadian Women’s National Team faced a tough test against Cuba on Tuesday, but fought back from a late deficit to secure a 7-5 win for the squad’s third victory of the event.

Plenty of trophies were handed out on Sunday and Monday at the National Championships. British Columbia, Ontario, and Québec squads secured multiple medals across the country. All of the tournament’s host cities also made a medal game appearance, with Gatineau (21U Mens) and Cloverdale (13U National Western) winning Silver Medals.

This weekend’s National Championships are almost at a close as all will be decided during Sunday’s elimination and medal games.
All three tournaments across Canada are heating up as Friday had some crucial games and Saturday starts the elimination period for some squads.
Thursday kicked off the 13U National Western Championship in Surrey, 18U National Championship in London, and 21U Men’s National Championship in Gatineau.

This marks Nova Scotia’s first ever Gold Medal in their first Finals appearance. The 6-1 Nova Scotia beat out the eight-time and defending champion Ontario squad for the win.
