Summerside, PEI- The Peewee Atlantic championship started with four games on the slate.
TORONTO- Day 1 of the Mizuno Elite Development Camp kicked-off at Rogers Centre in Toronto and gave the lucky 15 and 16 year olds in attendance a full day of knowledge that will surely turn them into not only better baseball players but will give them the tools necessary to succeed in life.
OTTAWA- Baseball Canada’s last National Championship will get underway this week with the Peewee Atlantic championship scheduled for Summerside PEI from September 9th-12th.
OTTAWA- Elemer Jerkovits has spent most of his life calling balls and strikes at baseball diamonds around the province of Saskatchewan. The 47 year-old native of Regina has stood behind home plate or manned the baselines for 35 years and given his time to the sport he loves.
OTTAWA- Baseball Canada is pleased to announce that the winner of the Rally Cap national prize is Emily from Gatineau, QC. Emily was randomly selected from numerous submissions from the Rally Cap Player of the Week draw. Baseball Canada received submissions from Rally Cap participants all over Canada.
OTTAWA - Major League Baseball, Mizuno Canada, the Toronto Blue Jays and Baseball Canada will host some of the top 15-16 year old baseball players in the country for the 2010 edition of the Mizuno Elite Development Camp at Rogers Center from September 8th to 11th.
OTTAWA- Minor League baseball is a tough grind for aspiring Major Leaguers. After years of trying to achieve their dream and many miles sitting on a bus, players are released, traded or simply quit. That’s why recent news that Max St. Pierre (Québec City, QC) has finally made the big league’s after 14 years in the minor leagues is a remarkable feat.
OTTAWA- Preliminary rosters for the prestigious Arizona Fall League have been announced and include five Canadian players and one familiar name who will be coaching in the league. The 6-team league sees the top prospects from all 30 Major League Baseball franchises participate.
OTTAWA-Nova Scotia has once again hosted a successful girl’s instructional clinic. For the third year in a row a clinic has been provided to teach baseball skills and also increase the profile of the sport amongst females in the province. This year the event was held in Bedford, a small community that is just outside of Halifax where over 150 girls participated.
