Juniors Excited to Face Jays

St. Petersburg, Florida- Junior National Team alumni Brett Lawrie (Langley, BC), Adam Loewen (Surrey, BC), Marcus Knecht (Toronto, ON) and Michael Crouse (Port Moody, BC) will be in the line-up with the Toronto Blue Jays as they face the JNT at Al Lang Stadium on Friday. Big-Leaguer’s Aaron Hill and John McDonald along with 2010 first round pick Deck McGuire will also make the short trip from Dunedin to St. Petersburg to play the juniors.

St. Petersburg, Florida- Beach State Independent scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning thanks to 2-out bases loaded double that scored all three runs. Beach State would add another run and shutdown the Junior National Team in the bottom of the 9th for a 7-4 win.

St. Petersburg, Florida- The Junior National Team, in their first action since October, faced a stiff challenge in the Seoul Nexen Heroes, a professional club from Korea. The JNT was able to keep the game close through 6 innings but eventually were blanked 8-0.

OTTAWA- The West Prince Minor Baseball Association from PEI has become the 10th baseball association in Canada to become RBI (Reaching Baseball Ideals) Approved. They also become the first association from PEI to be RBI approved since Baseball Canada began the program in 2008.

The Junior College baseball season is well underway while Division 1 programs begin play on February 18th.

OTTAWA- For the second year in a row a group of Bantam-aged girls will be heading to Cuba for not only a baseball experience, but a cultural and learning experience as well. The trip will run from February 20-27 and will see 26 girls along with the coaching staff of the Women’s National Team head to the baseball hotbed.
