OTTAWA - The fifth edition of the World Baseball Classic (WBC) is set for March 2023 and Canada is set to take on Pool C starting on March 12th (Noon MST) where they will play a qualifier team before facing USA on March 13th (7pmMST), Colombia on March 14th (Noon MST) and Mexico on March 15th (Noon MST).
OTTAWA – Jack Leger went the distance, tossing seven innings and allowing just one earned run, six hits and a walk to go along with two strikeouts to lead his Port City (NB) Pirates squad to a 7-2 victory over the eastern (PEI) Express en route to capturing the title at the 13U National Atlantic Championships in St. John’s.
BRADENTON, Florida - The Junior National Team had a hot start to their final game of the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, playing a near perfect game over three and a half innings however, it was all Panama after that as they managed to score runs in the third, fourth and fifth inning to secure a 5-2 victory over the Canadians.
SARASOTA, Florida - The Junior National Team came just short against Italy in the second game of the Placement Round at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup but the Italians scored in the fifth to tie the game, 2-2, before adding the eventual winning run in the top half of the seventh.
SARASOTA, Florida – Myles Naylor (Mississauga, ON) belted a solo homer in the fifth inning that proved to be the difference as Canada hung on to defeat Australia, 7-6, as the Placement Round opened at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup.
OTTAWA – The final Baseball Canada National Championship of 2022 will take place in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador from September 15 – 18 with the playing of the 13U National Atlantic Championships.
