OTTAWA – Baseball players of all ages will be taking part in baseball tournaments across Western Canada this weekend as this marks the third week of Baseball Canada championships. The Senior Men’s tournament will be played in Prince George, BC, and the Peewee Western tournament will take place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
OTTAWA – Vaughan, Ontario will once again play host to the Bantam Boys Championship tournament while the Bantam Girls Championship tournament moves east to Bedford, Nova Scotia.
EDMONTON-In a wild and whacky game where Australia gave Canada all they could handle, Canada managed to prevail 17-13 to claim the bronze medal at the 5th IBAF Women’s World Cup.
OTTAWA – Alberta and Québec both took home the Gold medal in their respective tournaments. Québec captured the Gold after winning Bronze last year, while Alberta finished out of the medal round one year ago.
OTTAWA – Round robin play wrapped up Saturday night in both the Junior and Midget National Championship tournaments. The standings have been set and Sunday’s schedule has been confirmed. Winners of the semi-final games will go on to play in the Gold Medal game while the losers will battle for Bronze.
EDMONTON-The Team Canada that fans in Edmonton had grown accustomed to watching over the past week at the 5th IBAF Women’s World Cup was nowhere to be found tonight as the United States handed Canada a lopsided 17-4 semi-final loss.
OTTAWA – The theme for today so far: Score early. In almost every game, the winning team has taken the lead within the first couple of innings and never looked back. We will see if this trend continues within the games later today.
EDMONTON-Canada gave a valiant effort and in the end came up just short in dropping a 9-7 decision to Japan in their final round-robin game at the 5th IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup.
OTTAWA – Teams are slowly rounding into form and battles are starting to heat up as both tournaments have reached their half way point. Expect to see more of the same on Day 3 when the teams will battle for positions in Sunday’s medal round.
